A weighbridge office cabin is the operator room beside the weighbridge deck, not the weighing system itself. SAMAN builds it as a steel portable cabin with one wall fixed as the deck-facing sightline wall, so the operator reads the indicator, watches the truck settle on the platform and hands the ticket over without leaving the desk. Six sizes are approved, from a 100 sq ft single-operator plinth room to a 400 sq ft unit that splits into a supervisor and records room and a four-operator hall. Every size carries a general arrangement drawing fixing the door wall, the window schedule, the console positions and the roof fall, so what you approve is what is fabricated. Prices are ex-GST for the cabin enclosure; platform, load cells, indicator and civil works are quoted separately.

Why a weighbridge needs its own cabin, not a spare office cabin
A weighbridge lane makes three demands a general office room is not laid out for. The operator must see the whole platform and the driver's cab from a seated position, which fixes where the glazing goes. Load-cell and indicator cabling enters on the deck side and must stay clear of the power and data runs, which fixes where the console sits. And the room stands in a dusty lane with trucks queueing a few feet away, which fixes where the door goes.
On every SAMAN weighbridge office cabin the answer is the same. Wall B is locked as the weighbridge-deck and truck-approach wall and carries the operator consoles and the deck glazing; Wall A takes the staff entry from the yard. A readymade office cabin is planned around desks and circulation, this one around a sightline and a cable route. The six sizes then differ by how many consoles sit on that wall and how much gangway is left behind them.

Wall B is fixed, and every size inherits it
Each size drawing names Wall B as the deck and truck-approach wall and places the operator consoles along it. Wall A takes the door and the printer counter. Both end walls carry one centred 4 by 3 ft window, no door.
Because the rule is common to all six, moving from the 200 sq ft room to the 300 sq ft hall gives you more consoles on the same wall, not a different building. Each drawing is shown beside its size below.

20 × 10 ft: the standard two-operator weighment room
This is the size most weighbridge sites order and the default shown when the page loads. Two deck-facing consoles sit at the ends of Wall B with the printer counter and records cupboard behind them on Wall A, so paperwork moves across the room rather than along the sightline. At 200 sq ft it is priced at the base rate with no band adjustment, which makes it the reference figure against which the other five sizes are worked out.

A weighbridge office cabin is not a weighbridge
Most searches that reach a page like this one are looking for one of two different things, and they are worth separating before anything else. A weighbridge is the weighing installation: the platform, the load cells under it, the junction box, the indicator head and the software that turns a signal into a printed weight. A weighbridge office cabin is the room the operator sits in while that installation does its work. SAMAN manufactures the room. It does not manufacture, supply, calibrate or stamp the weighing system.
That distinction matters commercially, because the two are usually bought from different suppliers on different timelines. The weighbridge is specified by capacity and by legal metrology approval, and it is normally ordered first because the civil foundation has to be poured around it. The cabin is specified by how many people work the lane, how far the plinth edge sits from the platform, and where the cable duct comes up. It is ordered later, and it can be moved or replaced afterwards without touching the weighing system at all.
Everything on this page therefore refers to the enclosure only. The six prices are for the cabin as drawn: shell, roof, floor, openings, insulation, internal lining and the standard electrical package. The platform, load cells, junction box, indicator, printer, computer, weighment software, CCTV, boom barrier, calibration, stamping, certification, civil works and site utilities are quoted separately or arranged by you. If a supplier quotes you a single figure covering both the weighing system and the room, ask them to split it, because the two are priced on completely different bases.
What the operator needs from the room, in order
Ask a weighment operator what makes a cabin workable and the answers come in a fixed order. First, the sightline: they need to see the whole platform and the driver's window from a seated position, because standing up for every vehicle across a two-hundred-truck day is not a plan. Second, the handover: tickets, gate passes and challans pass through a window or a hatch, and the queue moves at the speed of that exchange. Third, the cabling: the load-cell run and the indicator run enter on the deck side, and if they share a route with the power and lighting circuits the display picks up noise.
Fourth, and least glamorous, is dust. A weighbridge lane is where laden tippers brake and pull away, and the resulting airborne load is what actually ages the room: it gets into the door seal, onto the console, and onto the glazing that the sightline depends on. Putting the door on the yard side rather than the truck side is the cheapest single decision available, and it is the one the general arrangement drawings for all six sizes make for you.
None of this is exotic, but it is not what a general-purpose office room is arranged around. An office cabin is planned so that desks and circulation work; a weighbridge office cabin is planned so that a seated operator can watch a platform, take a ticket, and keep a cable run clean. The layouts below are the result of applying that order of priorities to six different footprints.
How many operators, and which of the six sizes
Start from the number of people who sit on the deck wall during your busiest shift, not from the area you think you need. Every approved size fixes its console count on the drawing, and the console count is what the room is really sold by. One console fits the 10 by 10. Two fit the 20 by 8, the 20 by 10 and the 20 by 12, which differ from one another only in how much gangway is left behind the operators. Four fit the 30 by 10 and the 40 by 10, and only the 40 by 10 gives one of those four a separate room.

The gangway column is the one buyers most often overlook and most often regret. At 3.34 ft on the 20 by 8, a second person cannot pass behind a seated operator without that operator moving their chair in. At 5.34 ft on the 20 by 10 they can. At 7.34 ft on the 20 by 12 a supervisor can stand behind both consoles during peak weighment and a document trolley can still get past. The three 20 ft sizes carry the same openings on the same coordinates, so gangway width, and the Rs 84,320 between the narrowest and the widest, is genuinely the whole decision.
Height is common at 8.5 ft nominal across all six, and wall thickness is 100 mm throughout. Both are fixed, so they are not a variable you need to weigh. What does change with size is the roof: the 20 by 8 uses a one-way plane falling from Wall A to Wall B, and the other five use a two-way roof with a centred ridge. In both cases the total rise or fall is 5 to 6 in, which is a drainage slope rather than a pitched roof, and every size carries exactly four compact lifting eyes at the top corners with no ISO container castings.
Why Wall B is fixed and Wall A takes the door
On every one of the six drawings the four walls are named the same way. Wall B is the weighbridge-deck and truck-approach wall. Wall A is the yard and staff-entry wall. End C and End D are the two short walls. That naming is not a labelling convention, it is a constraint, and it decides four things at once: where the deck glazing goes, where the operator consoles go, where the door does not go, and which side the cable sleeve enters.
Wall B therefore carries a deck window above every console position and no external door at all. On the 10 by 10 that is one window at 3 to 7 ft with the console beneath it. On the 20 ft sizes it is two windows at 1.5 to 5.5 and 14.5 to 18.5 ft with a console under each. On the 30 by 10 it is four windows and four consoles on matching coordinates. On the 40 by 10 it is a supervisor window at 3 to 7 ft plus three hall windows at 13, 23 and 33 ft. The operator is always looking at the platform, never at a wall.
Wall A takes everything that does not need the sightline: the entry door or doors, the printer and document counter, and the records cupboard. Putting the printer behind the operator rather than beside them is deliberate, because it keeps the paperwork movement across the room instead of along the glazing. And both end walls follow one rule with no exceptions anywhere in the range: exactly one horizontally centred 4 by 3 ft window, no external door, and nothing standing against them.
If your plinth is arranged so that the truck approach is on the other side, the cabin is simply set down the other way round. What cannot happen is a cabin with consoles facing a blank wall, which is what you get when a general office cabin is bought and pressed into weighment service.
What the 40 by 10 partition buys over the 30 by 10
The 30 by 10 and the 40 by 10 both seat four people and both cost more than any other size in the range, so the choice between them is worth setting out plainly. The 30 by 10 is one open hall: four consoles along Wall B, two doors on Wall A at opposite ends so a shift change does not cross behind a working console, and no internal wall anywhere. The supervisor, if there is one, works the floor.
The 40 by 10 takes the same four people and splits them. A partition at 10 ft creates a 10 by 10 supervisor and records room with its own desk, its own window on each long wall, and a connecting door between 6.25 and 9.25 ft. There is deliberately no window in that partition. What is left is a 30 by 10 operations hall with three consoles instead of four, plus an admin console on Wall A at 23 to 27 ft that faces away from the deck.
So the honest comparison is this. If you need four operators watching the platform, the 30 by 10 gives you four and costs Rs 1,42,600 less. If you need three watching the platform plus somewhere private to keep weighment records, run a dispute with a transporter, or hold a shift briefing without the hall hearing it, the 40 by 10 gives you that at 400 sq ft. Buying the 40 by 10 for the extra area alone is the wrong reason; buying it for the closed door is the right one.
How the price is built, and what is quoted separately
Every price on this page comes out of one calculation, and it is worth showing because it lets you check the figures rather than trust them. The base rate is Rs 1,550 per sq ft at 200 sq ft. Smaller cabins carry a percentage uplift because the fixed content of a cabin, the frame corners, the door, the electrical board, does not shrink with the floor. Larger cabins carry a percentage reduction because that same fixed content is spread further.
At 100 sq ft the band adds 15 per cent, giving Rs 1,782.50 per sq ft and Rs 1,78,250. At 160 sq ft it adds 10 per cent, giving Rs 1,705 and Rs 2,72,800. At 200 sq ft no adjustment applies, so the 20 by 10 sits exactly on the base rate at Rs 3,10,000. At 240 and 300 sq ft the band takes off 4 per cent, giving Rs 1,488 per sq ft in both cases. At 400 sq ft it takes off 5 per cent, giving Rs 1,472.50 and Rs 5,89,000. Multiply any rate by its area and you will get the published figure exactly.
All six figures are ex-GST. GST is charged at 18 per cent on top, and the GST-inclusive figures are shown alongside so there is nothing to work out. What the price covers is the cabin as drawn: the steel frame, the external cladding and roof, the insulation, the internal lining, the floor system, the doors and windows on the approved schedule, the standard electrical package, the corrosion protection, and the four lifting eyes. What it does not cover is everything on this list.

Placing the cabin beside the deck: what to check first
Four site questions decide whether the cabin you order will actually work where you intend to put it, and all four are cheaper to answer before fabrication than after delivery. The first is the offset: how far the cabin face will stand from the platform edge. That distance, together with the height of the plinth the cabin sits on, is what sets the seated sightline to the platform surface and to the driver's window. Send it with your enquiry.
The second is the support. The cabin arrives as a completed steel module and needs a level, load-bearing support along its base, whether that is a prepared plinth, a concrete pad or a supported steel frame. Preparing it is site-side work and is not in the price. The third is access for the vehicle and the crane or hydra that lifts the unit off it. The four lifting eyes are at the top corners, so the unit is lifted from above and needs clear headroom and swing space at the moment of placement.
The fourth is services. The load-cell and indicator cabling has to enter the room on the deck side and stay separated from the power and lighting circuits, and the incoming supply, earthing arrangement and any UPS or air conditioning provision have to be agreed before the internal wiring is set out. The standard electrical package is a distribution board with isolation, MCB and RCCB protection, earthing, and segregated lighting, socket, data and air conditioning circuits, with typical starting cable sizes of 1.5, 2.5 and 4 sq mm by duty. Final circuit quantities, connected load and breaking capacity follow the approved electrical drawing for your order.
When a weighbridge office cabin is the wrong choice
There are three situations where something else on the SAMAN range will serve you better, and it is worth saying so. If the room is a gate office that happens to be near a weighbridge but whose real job is checking vehicles in and out, a security cabin is the right product, because it is planned around access control rather than around a deck sightline. If the room is a general site or project office where nobody watches a platform, a readymade office cabin gives you the same build at a layout that suits desks.
And if you need somewhere for one clerk with a single desk and no weighment role at all, a small office cabin starts below the smallest size on this page. The deck-facing console positions, the fixed Wall B glazing and the segregated cable route are what you are paying the difference for here, and if none of the three is doing anything for you, they are not worth buying.

Three things in this tab decide which of the six sizes you order, and they are not the three a buyer usually looks at first. The console count in Group C tells you how many people can watch the platform at once. The clear gangway figure in the same group tells you whether anyone can move behind them while they do it. And the roof family in Group B tells you which way water leaves the roof, which matters when the low eave is over the staff entry rather than over the truck lane.
Group B is the part of the specification that is specific to this product rather than to SAMAN cabins in general. Wall B is named on every approved drawing as the weighbridge-deck and truck-approach wall, and it carries a deck window above every console position and no external door. That is what makes this a weighbridge office cabin rather than an office cabin standing next to a weighbridge, and it is the reason the opening schedule in Group C is worth reading before the material list in Group D.
Group D is the platform-common material key that applies across the SAMAN cabin families, so the frame sections, sheet thicknesses, lining, floor and insulation are the same here as on the rest of the range. Group E is the scope boundary. Freight tables and delivery terms
Every SAMAN cabin is delivered factory-direct from our Bengaluru (South) or Greater Noida (North) unit on an open trailer, with delivery and installation across South and North India in 7–21 working days. Cabins up to 20 ft travel on a 20 ft open trailer; 30 ft and 40 ft cabins travel on a 40 ft open trailer. Unloading by crane or manual placement is arranged based on your site access and confirmed at quotation.
