Portable Security Cabin — Relocatable Guard Post for Sites That Move
Most security cabins are bolted down once and stay there for a decade. SAMAN's portable security cabin is the variant for the other situation — when your guard post will shift as the site footprint changes. Built on a steel skid base with forklift slots and four lifting eyes, fitted with a single quick-disconnect electrical plug, and engineered so a forklift driver can lift it off one pad and a truck can take it to the next, this is the relocation-grade unit in our four-cabin security range. ₹85,000 starting, 6×6 ft standard, delivered from Bangalore or Greater Noida.
What is a portable security cabin?
A portable security cabin is a guard post engineered for relocation — built on a steel skid base with forklift slots and four lifting eyes, fitted with quick-disconnect electrical, and designed to be lifted, trucked to a new gate position, and re-installed at the new site without rebuilding the cabin or calling an electrician. SAMAN's standard 6×6 ft unit ships at ₹85,000.
₹85,000 spec — what comes in the 6×6 ft unit

Two windows on each face — the 360° visibility platform in a single frame.
The standard configuration is a 6 ft × 6 ft floor area with 9 ft total height. The structural frame is 45×45×3mm mild-steel tubular section, welded at the factory, with internal cross-bracing engineered for lifting flex. Walls are 0.5mm colour-coated steel panels — vandal-resistant and fully sealed against weather. The roof is MS sheet with a 3-degree pitch for water drainage. Four sliding glass windows — one on each face — give the guard observation cover in every direction; full visibility geometry is detailed on our security guard cabin page. A single hinged MS door with a cylinder lock controls entry. Inside, a steel checker-plate floor sits on the skid base, finished with an internal LED light fitting, a 6-amp power point, and a ceiling fan provision. One factory-applied RAL colour from our eight-option range is included.
Of the ₹85,000 starting price, roughly ₹75,000 covers the base cabin — the same build standard as our fixed security guard cabin. The ₹10,000 premium pays for the four relocation features detailed in the next section.
Four relocation features SAMAN builds in
These four features are what separate a relocatable security cabin from a regular one. Each addresses a specific failure mode that fixed cabins suffer when buyers try to move them anyway.

Two parallel 100mm steel runners and an open forklift channel — the cabin lifts in a single forklift motion.
Steel skid base with forklift slots
The cabin sits on two parallel 100mm steel runners welded into a single skid frame. Two transverse forklift channels run beneath the floor, accepting a standard 2-ton forklift tine from either side. A forklift driver lifts the cabin off its pad in a single motion — no slings, no rigging, no riggers. The skid base also distributes the cabin's ~800 kg weight evenly during lift, which prevents the floor frame from racking.
Lifting eyes for crane handling
When a forklift can't reach the cabin — restricted gate access, multi-cabin stacking, off-load from a truck bed — four lifting eyes welded at the roof corners take a crane's hook. The eyes are rated for the full cabin weight with a 4× safety factor and inspected at the factory before dispatch.
Quick-disconnect electrical fittings
The cabin's internal LED, fan, and power point terminate at a single 16-amp industrial plug fitting at the rear wall. To prepare for relocation, the guard simply unplugs from the site mains. At the new gate position, plug into an equivalent 16A outlet — no electrician callout, no rewiring. The internal wiring is sealed and factory-tested for repeated plug-cycle use.
Bolted modular wall fixings
Internal wall-to-frame joints are bolted, not welded. Bolted joints absorb the small flex that happens every time the cabin is lifted. Welded joints, in contrast, can fatigue-crack at the same points after repeated handling. This is the single biggest reason a fixed-build cabin shouldn't be relocated more than once.
How relocation actually works on site
A full relocation moves through four operations. We've timed each step on relocations our customers have run.
Disconnect (10 minutes). Guard switches off internal power and unplugs the cabin from site mains. Any external floor anchors — if used at the original site — are unbolted at the four corner brackets.

Lift step in progress — forklift inserts into the skid channel and clears the cabin in a single motion.
Lift (20–30 minutes). A standard 2-ton forklift slides into the skid base from either side and lifts the cabin clear. For sites without forklift access, a crane hooks the four roof eyes and lifts in a single pick. Total lift time including positioning rarely exceeds half an hour.
Transport. The cabin sits on its own skid base on a flatbed truck — no special trailer required. Standard ratchet strap securing to the truck deck is sufficient for distances up to 300 km on Indian roads.
Re-install (45–90 minutes). At the new gate position, the forklift sets the cabin onto a level pad — compacted hardcore, paver blocks, or a fresh concrete pad. Plug the 16A connector into the new mains supply. Open the door. The cabin is operational.
When to choose the portable variant vs the other three
SAMAN's security cabin range covers four buyer situations. Pick this portable variant when the cabin will move. Pick a different variant when other things matter more.
| Security Guard Cabin | Portable Security Cabin | Readymade Security Cabin | Prefabricated Security Cabin | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price from | ₹75,000 | ₹85,000 | ₹95,000 | ₹1,05,000 |
| Pick when | The guard post location is permanent for the deployment lifetime | The cabin will move between guard posts as your site changes | You need to install today with no site preparation work | Factory-built process consistency matters most for the order |
| Build emphasis | Steel-and-wood standard build, fixed installation | Steel skid base, lifting hardware, quick-disconnect electrical | Ready stock, immediate dispatch | Production-line build, identical units |
For the full feature spec of the entry guard post at ₹75K, see our security guard cabin page. For the broader range with the 360-degree visibility platform explained in detail, our four-cabin security range covers all four variants side by side.
Where portable security cabins actually get used
Four buyer situations come up repeatedly in our orders.
Phased construction sites where the gate moves inward. A 50-acre infrastructure project starts with the security gate at the outer perimeter. As Phase 2 buildings rise, the perimeter retracts. The same cabin moves with each retraction — typically two to four relocations across an 18-month project.
Multi-site security contractors managing several guard posts. A security firm holds cabins as company assets and moves them between client sites as contracts begin and end. The cabin travels with the contract, not the building.
Event security at festivals, exhibitions, and sporting venues. Temporary gate posts for 1-to-30-day events. After the event, the cabin returns to a yard or moves to the next event.

Industrial parks and corporate campuses adding new gates — the portable variant goes live without commissioning.
Industrial parks and corporate campuses adding new gates. A growing facility opens a second or third entry gate. The portable variant lets the security team add a post quickly without commissioning a new bolted-down cabin.
FAQs

Re-install step — the cabin sets down at the new gate position; from disconnect to live takes a working day.
How many times can a portable security cabin be safely relocated before the structure weakens?
With proper handling, our portable security cabin is designed for 15 to 20 relocations across a 10-year service life. The bolted-not-welded internal joints absorb lifting flex without fatigue cracking — the single most common failure mode in cabins that weren't built for relocation. Beyond 20 lifts we recommend a structural inspection at our factory; refurbishment to extend the service life is usually possible.
What does it cost to relocate an existing portable security cabin versus ordering a new one?
A single relocation within a 200 km radius typically costs ₹12,000 to ₹18,000 — that covers forklift hire, a flatbed truck for the day, two labourers, and roughly half a day's labour time. The break-even against buying a fresh cabin sits at roughly five to six relocations. For distances above 500 km, freight cost approaches the cost of a new cabin dispatched from our nearer facility, so a fresh order from Bangalore or Greater Noida is usually the better call.
Can the cabin be re-installed at a new gate without a concrete foundation?
Yes. The steel skid base distributes the cabin's ~800 kg weight evenly across the ground, so it sits stable on compacted hardcore, paver blocks, or even a level natural surface for short-term installations of three to six months. For long-term placement at the new site (two years or more), we still recommend a four-corner concrete pad or anchor bolts for wind-uplift resistance.
How does the electrical fitting disconnect and reconnect during relocation?
The cabin's internal LED light, power point, and fan provision terminate at a single 16-amp industrial plug fitting at the rear wall. To disconnect, unplug from your site mains. At the new gate position, plug into an equivalent 16A outlet — no electrician required, no site rewiring. The cabin's internal wiring is sealed at the factory and pressure-tested for repeated plug-cycle use.
