What Is a Container Building Made Of?

A container building is built on a welded steel frame, clad outside with mild-steel (MS) sheet and lined inside with MD board. It takes the proportions of a shipping container but is not a cut-down ISO cargo box. It is purpose-built, so panel quality, insulation and finish are specified for occupied commercial use.

That distinction matters when you compare quotes. Many "container" sellers either repurpose worn shipping containers or stay vague about it. Our steel container buildings start as new fabrication: the MS exterior takes weather, dust and rough sites without rusting through quickly, and the MD-board lining gives you a clean internal surface ready for paint, fittings or partitions.

The unit is 20 feet long, 15 feet wide and 8.6 feet to the internal ceiling: 300 square feet of single open floor. The structure is a welded steel frame; the walls are MS sheet outside and MD board inside; the roof is finished and weather-sealed; the floor is laid; a door and windows are fitted for access and cross-ventilation. Inside, the electrical system is wired to a distribution switchboard, ready to connect to your supply.

The ₹4,45,000 price covers all of that and is inclusive of all taxes, with transport to most Indian sites included. Genuinely remote sites are quoted separately, but the unit itself is the price you see, one of the few container buildings in India sold at a fixed, published figure rather than "price on request."

Container Building or Steel-Panel Prefab: How to Choose

Both products buy you the same 300 sq ft at a similar price; the difference is the shell. This is the one decision worth making before you order.

Choose this modular container building when you want the container look, a hard steel exterior for exposed sites, or a unit you expect to relocate. If neither the look nor the steel skin matters and you want the lighter, slightly cheaper option, a steel-panel prefab building is the better buy. Where a Container Building Fits: Commercial Site Uses

The 300 sq ft works as a clean wired office, a secure on-site store, a retail or sales unit, a site project office, or a staff room. The shell is fixed; the fit-out is yours: desks and partitions for an office, shelving for storage, a counter for retail.

Site Base, Delivery and Relocating a Container Building

There is no foundation to dig. The unit stands on a level, compacted base. The same ground you would prepare for a slab, but with nothing poured. Level it, place the unit, bolt it down, connect power, and it is usable. Manufacturing begins on order confirmation and the unit ships within 10–14 days. Because the structure is a bolted steel frame in container form, it can be lifted and relocated to another site later, an advantage a poured RCC structure cannot offer.

Is a container building the same as a container house?

No. This is a commercial container-style building: an MS-clad steel shell for office, retail, storage or site use. A container house is a residential build with home fittings; if that is what you need, see our container houses range instead.

Container building or steel-panel prefab: which should I choose?

Pick the container building for the container look, a tougher steel exterior, and easy relocation. Pick the steel-panel option if you want the lowest price and lighter-weight insulated walls. Both give you 300 sq ft at a near-identical cost.

Can I use a container building as an office?
